E-Passport Application

Who can Apply?

• If the applicant is a Bangladeshi origin national living in United Kingdom or Ireland having required documents to prove his/her Bangladeshi origin.
• If the applicant is a Newborn of a Bangladeshi origin.
• If the applicant has an Existing MRP which has a validity less than 1 Year. We will not be able to receive any E-Passport application if the existing MRP has a validity more than one year.
• If the applicant has an E-Passport which has a validity of less than 1 year.
• If the applicant has an old styled Handwritten Bangladeshi passport.
• If the applicant lost the previous handwritten passport/MRP/E-Passport but has a copy of it. In that case a lost report reference letter lodged in the France police department will be mandatory.
• The applicants must have a Bangladeshi National Id card (NID) or a 17 digit online verifiable Birth Registration Certificate (English Version) to apply for an E- Passport. If the application is with a Birth Registration Certificate, the BRC must be online verifiable and must contain English data. Please verify this from https://everify.bdris.gov.bd/
• We will not be able to process an E-Passport application with a Birth Certificate which is issued from Dhaka South City Corporation after 2022.

Mandatory Physical Appearance
Please note that Physical Appearance is mandatory for e-passport enrolment, as such, applicants must take an appointment. While you apply, the appointments will be available towards the end of the application. All the applicants regardless of any age including Child and new-born must visit the Embassy on the date of passport application submission.

e-Passport Fee and Mode of Payment and processing time:

• On the date of your appointment the e-Passport fee will be taken from the counter from the applicants Bank card. The applicants are requested to keep sufficient fund for paying the fees. The Embassy does not accept any cash payment.
• Please do not pay in A-Challan or e-Challan. A-Challan or e-Challan is only accepted exclusively for passport office who applies in Bangladesh.
• After successful application submission the applicant will see E-passport fee in the application in Dollar currency. However, the actual fee that needs to be paid in the counter will be in British pound Currency.
• The E-Passport fee for Embassy of Bangladesh, Paris Paris is calculated in British Pounds and is fixed considering the Dollar to Pound currency conversion fluctuation.
